Amanda built a company in Guatemala with a mission to merge sophisticated design and ancient craft. Working alongside indigenous weavers, the company created sustainable textiles crafted from premium natural materials using time-honored Mayan weaving techniques. The ethos was rooted in the belief that creating exceptional products and fostering human impact go hand in hand, challenging the fashion industry to embrace greater transparency in its supply chain. Inspired by a small village of weavers in 2015, Amanda launched Sticks, a brand named after the traditional weaving tools. Over five years in Guatemala, she studied and designed textiles, producing collections that celebrated cultural heritage while embodying modern design principles. Through this work, Amanda combined her passion for design and social responsibility, championing sustainability and ethical craftsmanship.

"An innovative new company within the kids eco-sphere, we fell in love with Sticks and their funky textiles and pioneering take on traditional textile production." - Hooligans Magazine

Inspired by ancient Mayan textiles and hand weaving techniques, for Sticks SS'19 we worked with indigenous Mayan weavers in the highlands of Guatemala to hand weave each of our heirloom fabrics.
